  1. A former Idaho legislator charged with two felonies, including rape, has returned to the state after being arrested in Georgia. KIVI-TV reporter Katie Kloppenburg reports Aaron von Ehlinger was booked into the Ada County Jail on Friday, Oct. 8. (kivitv)
  2. A Boise School Board trustee has stepped down. IdahoEdNews reporter Blake Jones includes the resignation letter of now former trustee Alicia Estey in his report. (idahoednews)
  3. A birthday is coming many Boiseans may celebrate. On Nov. 1, the McDonald's McRib sandwich officially hits middle age and turns 40! Boise area McDonalds will be selling the fan favorite for a limited time according to Mike Pomranz of Food and Wine magazine. (foodandwine)
  4. Fruitland police have some possible new leads in the disappearance of Fruitland boy Michael Vaughn and are asking the public for assistance. New video is available and law enforcement are asking for help in identifying the vehicles. KTVB-TV and Celina Van Hyning show the video of vehicles and joggers seen on the day Vaughn went missing.   • The Adventure Idaho Community will go rock climbing at Black Cliffs. Students will have the opportunity to connect with others and learn in a safe and controlled environment. No experience is required to climb, just have fun! (8:00 a.m.)
  • Join Golden Eagle Audubon Society for our monthly beginner-friendly bird walk along the Bethine Church River Trail. This is a great opportunity to learn about riparian habitat as we focus on local birds, plants, and stewardship efforts in the area. Participants help GEAS keep the trail clean by picking up litter along the way. Expect to see songbirds, waterfowl, woodpeckers, herons ,and kingfishers. This monthly bird walk is targeted towards beginner birders, so if you are brand-new to birding, this is the class for you! We will cover basics like adjusting your binoculars, how to use field guides, and tips & tricks to identifying birds. No public restrooms are available. We will walk between 1-2 miles on flat, unpaved trails. Binoculars are available to borrow if you do not have a pair. Please wear weather-appropriate clothing and wear comfortable walking shoes. All participants under the age of 18 yrs old must be accompanied by an adult. (8:00 a.m.)
  • Starting Sundays on October 3rd, acclaimed comedy duo, Nice! Cool Beans! will bring a new LIVE comedy show to the patio of Hilltop Station every weekend. Each show will feature stand-up comedy, improv comedy, or a combination of the two. No two shows will be the same, so throw on something warm & cozy, come grab some food, drinks, and enjoy the laughs! (6:00 p.m.)
  • On July 2, 2021, the City of Kuna launched a marketplace of small retail storefronts (120 sq. ft.) that will help foster growth of small Kuna businesses who farm or create local products. (11:00 a.m.)
  • The Sapphire Room presents Steve Eaton and Andy Byron on Sunday. (7:00 p.m.)

The McRib Jr. was available briefly in 2000. This version replaced the roll with a standard hamburger bun, and was served with two pickles and a smaller pork patty.
