The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Boise.

And don't forget today is Election Day! Get out there and make your voice heard. Today is also my birthday (yes, my birthday does fall on Election Day), so I will be working watching the election results while eating cake and ice cream. I am older than 20 and less than 90.

Here are the top stories today in Boise:
- As the weather continues to chill, many elderly in the capital city are finding themselves homeless. Boise State Public Radio's Samantha Wright speaks with Margaret Carmel regarding a new study showing Boise is struggling with caring for elderly homeless. (Boise State Public Radio)
- The Idaho Attorney General has now ordered current Lt. Gov. Janice McGeachin twice to "cease and desist." KTVB-TV carries a story by Idaho Press reporter Betsy Russell reporting McGeachin has been violating the Public Integrity in Elections Act by advocating for candidates in her official state office newsletter. Using the official Lieutenant Governor's website, McGeachin wrote Democratic candidate for Idaho Attorney General Tom Arkoosh was a “radical Democrat” and referred to a long list of prominent Idaho Republicans who’ve endorsed Arkoosh as “mutinous Republicans” and “turncoats who are now blatantly working on behalf of the left.” (ktvb)
- If your plans for dinner include Banh Mi, Pho, or Lo-mein noodles, a new restaurant opened Tuesday for you. BoiseDev managing editor Gretchen Parsons reports Pho-Nomenal is located at 10548 W Fairview Ave. (boisedev.com)
- Your mother yelled at you for walking through the mud and now the City of Boise is doing the same. Boise Patch carries a message from the city warning hikers to stay off muddy trails to prevent long-term damage to the Ridge to Rivers Trail System. (Boise Patch)
- Keeping with the Boise Foothills, CBS2 news staff write the Land Trust of the Treasure Valley raised $250,000 in six weeks to preserve 320 acres of the Boise Foothills from potential development. The South Fork Willow Creek has now been set aside as public land and open space. (idahonews)
