Here are the top stories today in Boise:
- We all forget things now and then, but an Idaho inmate apparently forgot to return back to the local Reentry Center when the shift at his job ended. KTVB-TV staff report Michael Frangesh walked away from his job Saturday morning. Frangesh was serving time for aggravated driving under the influence and was scheduled to be released in 2029. He has been eligible for parole since February 2020. (KTVB.com)
- For this next story, we travel outside of Boise, up Highway 55. KIVI-TV's Steve Dent joined the Whitewater River Chicks for a full-day water safety course for women taught by women. The group holds two sessions each summer with the goal of assisting females in becoming more comfortable in the water and learning river safety techniques. (kivitv)
- The kids are preparing to return to school soon and now may be the time for you to return to work or maybe look for a new career. Boise Patch offers the latest job openings in Boise including customer service representatives, dispatchers, workplace consultants and more. (Boise Patch)
- When that fateful day finally arrives marking the first day of school, many students in the West Ada District will see weeded flowerbeds, freshly mowed lawns and pruned bushes. IdahoEdNews reporter Sadie Dittenber reports hundreds of volunteers were on hand over the past weekend, helping clean up school grounds and helping the district's understaffed groundskeeping crews. The West Ada District is comprised of 58 schools and welcomes 40,000 students but employs just eight groundskeepers. At least 100 volunteers showed up to lend a helping hand. (Idaho EdNews)
- Despite your best plans, you may have been busy and missed this past weekend's Idaho Halloween and Horror Convention. If you failed to attend, Mix106's Michelle Heart has photos of the best costumes for those that did make the event. A trio of Ghost Busters were on hand to keep the undead from causing problems.
