- Even Stevens, a sandwich shop in Downtown Boise, has been evicted following an eviction notice issued by the Ada County Sheriff. The chain had previously declared bankruptcy in 2019 and had been facing challenges, including a cessation of its donation program to food charities. Even Stevens had also faced issues with food safety inspections and staffing. This eviction is not the first for the chain, as a similar incident occurred in 2018 for failure to pay rent. Attempts to reach the building's owner and Even Stevens were unsuccessful. (boisedev.com)
- The owner of Arbor Village, an assisted living facility in Boise, has withdrawn their application to convert the facility into regular apartments. The city had placed certain conditions on the conversion, including rules preventing Arbor Village from accepting new residents and requiring the owner to pay the difference in rent if tenants had to move to a more expensive facility. The lawyer representing the owner stated that they did not agree with the proposed conditions and decided to withdraw the application. The city officials expressed concern for the current residents and stated their intention to explore ways to provide protection for them. (boisedev.com)
- The Idaho Transportation Department has announced the closure of the Federal Way ramps along Broadway Avenue in Boise for six nights to replace the deteriorated pavement. The closures will take place from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. starting on Sunday, May 21, and are expected to conclude on May 26. The department aims to minimize daytime disruptions by scheduling the work at night. Detour routes will be marked, and speed limits are expected to be reduced during the closures. Additional paving work is planned for late June along Broadway Avenue and other highways. (Idaho Statesman)
