Here are the top stories in Boise today:
- Idaho taxpayers will not have access to know who manufactured the drugs used in our state's next execution, according to an article authored by the Idaho Capital Sun's Clark Corbin. After testimony by Idaho Department of Correction Director Josh Tewalt arguing his department is unable to secure the necessary drugs, a bill is headed to the House of Representatives that will prevent the disclosure of any person or company who “compounds, synthesizes, tests, sells, supplies, manufactures, stores, transports, procures, dispenses, or prescribes the chemicals or substances for use in an execution or that provides the medical supplies or medical equipment for the execution process.” (idahocapitalsun)
- The slopes of Bogus Basin were filled with high school and middle school athletes for the 62nd year as the Dotty Clark Memorial Race took place Thursday and Friday. KIVI-TV's Steve Dent spoke with some of the participants who are relieved the race was on after a one-year hiatus. (kivitv)
- An iconic Boise little store may soon see a new future. BoiseDev editor Don Day reports the Roosevelt Market has been identified as a new project by Elizabeth and David Rex, Boise residents and owners of The Wylder in downtown Boise and Certified Kitchen and Bakery in Hyde Park. The Wylder teased plans for the building with a not-so-subtle post on Instagram showing a large portion of the Roosevelt Market sign. (boisedev)
- The old Ann Morrison Park fountain will be a thing of the past by the end of the month. KTVB-TV's Doug Petcash spoke with Boise Parks and Recreation Department Director Doug Holloway on the removal of the fountain and the plans for the replacement. (ktvb)
- Like many followers of the Boise Daily, I was unaware Dairy Queen has a "secret menu." You can walk into any Boise Dairy Queen and order a Jack and Jill Sundae, a favorite from the '60s. Taste of Home's Melany Love explains how to order this treat, plus others like a Double Fudge Frozen Hot Chocolate. (tasteofhome)
