  1. Interstate 84 was closed east of Micron for nine hours after an officer involved shooting. KTVB-TV staff report an Ada County deputy encountered a man walking on the interstate at around 2 a.m. A struggle took place, and the deputy was seriously injured. The man involved in the incident is dead with few details released on how he died. The interstate was closed until 11:25 a.m. due to the incident. (ktvb)
  2. The jury was sworn in the Lori Vallow Daybell trial which started Monday. EastIdahoNews reporter Nate Eaton continues to provide updates on what took place during opening statements. Prosecutors opened stating the case is about "money, power and sex." Prosecutors also state Vallow Daybell used a rating system of light and dark for people and used "casting" to expel demons and if unsuccessful, people were turned to zombies. In the defense opening statements, Vallow Daybell is described as a good mother and states the defendant was not present when her children were murdered. The victim's grandmother takes the stand and states Vallow Daybell failed to contact her son for a period of 58 days after she entered into a relationship with Chad Daybell. (eastidahonews)
  3. A new baby in the house is a difficult adjustment for a new mom. The IdahoCapitalSun's Audrey Dutton writes Boise now has a program where low-income new moms are able to have a nurse visit the home to help out. The Nurse-Family Partnership program matches up to 25 families per nurse and studies of similar programs show less child abuse and neglect, fewer ER visits for children, fewer arrests of the mothers and other positive signs.   4. There are Boise companies out there looking for you. Boise Patch offers this week's job board including positions in customer service, a personal assistant at a local church, sales and a cheese shredder. (Boise Patch)
  5. If you waited to purchase a home in Boise until now, you will pay less than just one year ago. BoiseDev editor Don Day writes home prices in the capital city are at their lowest level in two years — since April of 2021. In Ada County, the average time to sell a home stands at 72 days.
