The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare is being accused of interfering in the Lori Vallow Daybell trial, while documents show the mall shooter had made a previous attempt to visit with the governor. - Candidates for school boards in Idaho are listed as nonpartisan, running neither as a Democrat or Republican in theory. The upcoming election for West Ada School has garnered interest from both political parties according to Blake Jones and IdahoEdNews. (Idaho EdNews)
- Lori Vallow Daybell’s defense attorney Mark Means says his client and the court system are being manipulated by Idaho Department of Health and Welfare workers. In an article in the East Idaho News written by Eric Grossarth, Means claims a clinician for the state agency recommended Daybell contact attorneys with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Salt Lake City and possibly obtain legal counsel other than a state-appointed public defender, going so far to provide Daybell with a phone number. - The Boise Towne Square Mall shooter that killed two people and injured several others attempted to interview Gov. Brad Little earlier this year. CBS2 news staff obtained documents from the Idaho State Police showing Jacob Bergquist showed up at the governor's office, armed with a pistol, requesting an interview. (idahonews)

LITE-FM 's Michelle Heart reports 13 violent sexual offenders live in the Treasure Valley with four of those listed as reoffenders. - A Run for the Kids takes place Saturday. Race starts at Julia Davis Park in the Ag Pavilion, 700 S Capitol Blvd. Registration and packet pickup 8–8:45 a.m. 5K Run/Walk may have wave starts to in order to social distance. Wave times will be assigned randomly. (9 a.m.)
- The Korean Club is resuming the Korean Chuseok (Full Moon’s Festival) Event on Saturday. There will be Korean games (some played in “Squid Game”), authentic Korean food, and K-pop! (11 a.m.)
- The Boise State University Recreation Center will be hosting a watch party for fans to get together and watch the BSU football game. (4 p.m.)
- The Household Hazardous Waste Collection site for Saturday is the Waste Collections Facility located at 10300 N. Seamans Gulch Road. (8 a.m.)
- The 2021 Mel Shelton IMEA/DIII Marching Band Festival will be held Saturday at the Albertsons Stadium on Boise State Campus. (11 a.m.)
