Good morning, people of Boise! It's me again, John Braese, your host of the Boise Daily.

For years, Harrison Boulevard was the place to be for Halloween. This year was no different. The state is changing the way to purchase high dollar, collectible alcohol, and Boise State is attempting to stop a coffee lawsuit. The plight of of homeless students is looked at from a personal view, and Blockbuster is back and free.

  1. One way to recover from the pandemic is to bring a new generation back to the same memories of the older generation. For Boise, the place to go on Halloween is Harrison Boulevard. This year, KTVB-TV's Maggie O'Meara joins the thousands of trick-or-treaters on the best street in Boise. (KTVB.com)
  2. If you are a collector of premier bottles of alcohol, the way you purchase these bottles is changing. In a story published by CBS2-TV, the Idaho Liquor Commission said bad behavior by customers and harassment of store employees is changing the way rare booze is sold. (idahonews)
  3. Boise State University does not want to pay Big City Coffee $10 million and has filed a motion to dismiss a lawsuit brought by the coffee company. BoiseDev reporter Margaret Carmel recaps the lawsuit filed by Big City due to the university's “aggressive social justice agenda.” (boisedev)

  • Due to Tuesday's election, Borah High School will hold classes virtually. (8 a.m.)
  • Join Golden Eagle Audubon as we walk along Spring Valley Creek in Avimor listening for our resident birds. Be prepared to hike up to 4 miles over relatively flat but uneven terrain. There are some areas of deep sand and gravel and rocky steep sections. Group size will be small to allow for better listening and learning. Familiarity with common species will be helpful. Binoculars will be available if needed. All participants under 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult. No dogs please. (9 a.m.)
  • Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions in Provo Utah is holding a virtual information session on Tuesday. Attend to learn more about their Doctor of Physical Therapy Program and connect with an advisor and/or a program representative. You’ll have the chance to become more familiar with the program as well as answer any questions that you might have. (6 p.m.)
  • The Boise Public Library will hold a teen hangout on Tuesday. (5 p.m.)
  • The Women's and Children's Alliance Outreach Team will be on-site at Meridian Library with information and resources. (2 p.m.)
