House To Vote On Raising Age To Smoke And Vape
A bill raising the age to purchase cigarettes and vaping devices to 21 heads to the Idaho House of Representatives.

BOISE, ID—In an attempt to fall in line with federal law, the Idaho House Health and Welfare Committee approved a bill raising the age to purchase cigarettes and electronic smoking devices to 21 years of age. The bill now goes to the Idaho House for a full vote.
After a signature by President Donald Trump one year ago, the federal age to purchase tobacco products was set to 21. Idaho law continues to state 18 years of age, causing confusion according to testimony provided.
The bill raising the age to 21 previously passed the Idaho State Senate. If passed by the full House, the legislation would be forwarded to the governor's office for consideration.
