Supported by the Idaho Farm Bureau, Governor Brad Little signed into law HB 126 making Idaho the final state in union to legalize the non-intoxicating crop. The new law does not legalize hemp products with any amount of THC, the ingredient in maijuana. The bill also did not legalize CBD oil that contain any amount of THC.

Industrial hemp contains no more than 0.3% of the substance, a level so low that the products have no intoxicating effect.
The signed bill did contain an emergency clause, making it effective the day Governor Little signed it into law. However, a system to regulate the new law stills needs to be put into place and according to experts, Idaho farmers most likely will not place the first plants into the ground until 2022.
