Here are the top stories in Boise today:

  1. Boise's North End was a busy place Friday morning. KTVB-TV staff report a body was found Friday morning and the Violent Crimes Unit detectives were on the scene located at West Franklin Street between 17th and 18th streets. (KTVB.com)
  2. Downtown Boise will be a little less crowded as the Idaho Legislature has wrapped up business and is heading home. The IdahoCapitalSun's Clark Corbin writes the House failed to override a governor's veto on a controversial library bill as their final matter of business. This session saw increased funding for public schools, money for teacher raises, property tax reductions, criminalization for taking a minor out of state for an abortion, movement of the presidential primary date and addition of firing squad as means of execution. 3. As expected, a jury has been selected in the trial of Lori Vallow Daybell. EastIdahoNews reporter Nate Eaton reports 10 men and eight women will make the decision on Vallow Daybell's future. The 12 jurors and six alternates will not be revealed until deliberations at the end of the trial. With the selections made, opening statements by both sides will begin Monday at 8:30 a.m. (eastidahonews)
  4. Meridian may see new housing as a townhome project has been submitted for approval for an area near Settlers Park. BoiseDev's Autum Robertson reports Brighton Corporation wants to build a 57-unit townhome project with commercial elements on nine acres near the community park. All the units would be a minimum of 1,250 square feet with 13 two-bedroom units and 44 three-bedroom units. Amenities include a clubhouse with a gathering space, a management/maintenance office, covered patio, play structure, picnic area, and 21,098 square feet of open space. (boisedev.com)
  5. A Nampa man is in jail after a search warrant was executed on his home Wednesday morning. CBS2 news staff report 19-year-old Juan D. Zavala, currently on probation for a prior drug conviction, after law enforcement found marijuana, THC cartridges, cocaine, mushrooms and firearms, including a stolen AK-47, inside the residence.
