Here are the top stories today in Boise:

  1. The search continues for a 16-year-old drowning victim at Lucky Peak Reservoir. Boise Patch reports Gene Ralston has joined Ada County deputies in the search. Ralston is an underwater search and recovery expert with specialty equipment and an extensive history of finding drowning victims. Even with our recent heat, the water in the area where the teen disappeared was in the low 60s. (Boise Patch)
  2. If your plans for the weekend included grabbing a pizza and a beer at Lucky 13, that slice may be the final one for some time. BoiseDev editor Don Day writes owner Liza Goul is taking a "sabbatical," hoping to reopen the popular patio spot in late September. Goul states she is waiting to hire returning Boise State University students before once again opening the doors. (boisedev.com)
  3. A total of 47 people reported an interesting nighttime view Tuesday. KTVB-TV staff have a video of a "fireball" seen in Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Wyoming. The spectacle took place around 10:10 p.m. Tuesday evening and moved from west to east. One agency states the streaking blaze was a 10-year-old Russian fuel tank that had been orbiting the Earth for 10 years after launching a communications satellite. (KTVB)
  4. We are just a few days away from the one-year anniversary of Michael Vaughn going missing. CBS2 news staff were present as Fruitland Police held a news conference Friday with an update on the missing 5 year old. After thousands of hours of searching and investigations, police report some people interviewed or involved in the search have been uncooperative. (idahonews)
  5. Our final story for Saturday involves more than a few scratch-off tickets.
