Here are the top stories in Boise today:
- We all know of new residents to Boise, but this one recently made the relocation from Hagerman and is seven feet long. KTVB-TV staff report a sturgeon has moved into to Boise's Fish and Game's MK Nature Center. The new resident outgrew his previous pool at the Hagerman National Fish Hatchery and will join three sturgeon already making Boise home at the Nature Center. (KTVB)
- Long before Google maps, there was Map Rock. BoiseDev reporter Anna Daly introduces readers to the ancient petroglyph rock just outside Boise that historians believe the Shoshone-Bannock Tribe drew the map showing the route along the Snake and Salmon rivers as well as the animals roaming the area as far back as 12,000 years ago. The artifact is now part of a 34-acre park accessible year round to visitors. (boisedev)
- A local church has donated a vacant lot to a group with plans to build affordable housing on the ground. KIVI-TV's Cooper Waytenick writes Lakeview Church of the Nazarene in Nampa recently announced the donation of a vacant lot next to its facility to the Leap Housing Trust. The Trust is a community-driven program for Idahoans in need of affordable housing and has already built two communities that are held in the trust. (Idaho News 6 Boise Twin Falls)
- In just a few days, you should be able to order a Happy Meal in a Mcpunk'n, McBoo or McGoblin bucket at a Boise McDonald's for the first time since 2016. Taste of Home's Claire Krieger reports the fast food giant is bringing back the popular Halloween Happy Meals back, but only until October 31. (tasteofhome)
- Meridian Police have a few photos of a man and would like your assistance in identifying him. CBS2 news staff report the unidentified man committed a fraud at a Meridian business. He is described as having a medium build and multiple tattoos on the left arm. (idahonews)
