Mask Mandate Returns At BSU

Boise State University announced reinstatement of masks for indoor spaces and crowded outdoor spaces.

BOISE, ID — Boise State University joined Idaho's other four-year universities in announcing masks will be mandatory effective August 12.

On the University's website, facial coverings are not required when working alone in an enclosed space, classroom, or in a residence hall room.

The move comes after increased cases of COVID around the state. The City of Boise previously had reinstated face coverings in city buildings. The move from the Idaho universities still needs approval from the Idaho State Board of Education-which meets Aug. 25.

Boise State's first football game at Albertsons Stadium this upcoming season is on Sept. 10 against UTEP at 7:30 p.m.
