  1. The Boise City Council gave its stamp of approval to a vegetable and fish production facility near the Boise Airport. BoiseDev reporter Autum Robertson writes Greenscale is looking to produce 80,000 pounds of vegetables and 20,000 pounds of whole fish annually in a 25,000-square-foot facility. The business will use hydroponics to grow the vegetables and recirculate the water in the agriculture system to raise fish. (boisedev.com)
  2. Boise has now seen snow for 11 consecutive days. CBS2 news staff report if you are heading to the mountains for the upcoming weekend, an Avalanche Watch is in effect for many areas. Near Sun Valley, the Wood River Valley Mountains and Soldier Mountain area could reach extreme danger levels by Friday. (Idaho News)
  3. Boise Mayor Lauren McLean wants to do it again. KTVB-TV staff write the incumbent mayor announced on Twitter her intent to run for re-election. (KTVB.com)
  4. After learning lawmakers voted to not pass on federal money to Idaho child care centers, child care providers, parents and children gathered at the capital to rally against the cuts. IdahoCapitalSun's Audrey Dutton writes as a result of the cuts, Boise parents may see increases of up to 10 percent in day care and pre-kindergarten costs. (idahocapitalsun)
  5. A local climbing gym has been selected to host one of four lead and speed competitions in the 2023 North American Cup Series. The BoiseWeekly's Andrew McKague writes the Vertical View Climbing Gym will host climbers Sept. 22-24 attempting to earn an invitation to the World Cup. In June, younger climbers from around the nation will be at Vertical View for the USA Climbing, Youth Division 2, and Divisional Championships. (boiseweekly)
