- An activist ticketed for using a megaphone during a demonstration against police brutality has won in court. Ryan Suppe, writing for KTVB-TV, reports the ticket issued to Ty Werenka has been dismissed by Ada County Magistrate Judge Ransom Bailey. (KTVB.com)
- The City of Boise is inviting citizens to discuss housing in the city. City officials will be holding a number of open houses, both in person and online. Read Boise Patch for a listing of meetings near you. (Press Release Desk)
- Idaho's political tiff between the governor and lieutenant governor is now receiving national attention. CBS2 staff report CBS Mornings was in the capital city Friday to provide a closer look into the ongoing back and forth between Gov. Brad Little and Lt. Gov. Janice McGeachin. (Idaho News)

- The District III Volleyball Tournament continues at Capital High School on Saturday. (8 a.m.)
- Join Boise Parks & Rec for a Bioblitz! at Hyatt Hidden Lakes! There were be different survey periods throughout the day. Come just for one survey or participate for all three! Surveys will use both eBird and iNaturalist to record species observed. (8 a.m.)
- Join in on a fun and rewarding project serving our native wildlife right here in Boise! You will learn more about what is being done in our area to conserve native species while also being a part of the process of protecting them. You will work with a team of volunteers to prepare three restoration sites for planting projects later in October. Tasks to support native plants include weeding and placing mulch around the restoration sites. While working, you will also learn about the history of the Boise River, invasive weeds, and the importance of native plants. This project is being led by a team of local conservation organizations and government agencies, including the Golden Eagle Audubon Society. (8 a.m.)
- The 10th Annual Members Rock, Gem and Jewelry Sale occurs Saturday. Society members offering their unique jewelry; unusual rough and polished rocks; minerals; fossils; handcrafted artisan items; gemstones. (9 a.m.)
- Snake River Concert presents Lynn Tredeau and Wayne White. Come join us for an afternoon of music by these Award Winning artists at a one of a kind location. Both Wayne and Lynn will share with you the stories behind their original compositions and you'll get to hear them played as they were meant to be heard, up close and personal. (3 p.m.)
