Missing Star Woman Ends With Body Recovery In Oregon

The body of Deborah Hendrichs was recovered today by searchers in Meacham, Oregon.

MEACHAM, OR — A large scale search was called off Saturday at approximately 1 p.m. after the search team reported finding the body of Deborah Hendrichs, 56, of Star Idaho.

Hendrichs had been reported missing since Jan. 11 when her vehicle was found on the side of Interstate 84 near Meacham, Oregon. Hendrichs had reported running out of gas. When an Oregon State Trooper returned with the gas, Hendrichs was gone.

The Umatilla County Sheriff's Office issued a press release on Saturday stating K-9 teams found a wallet and other items belonging to Hendrichs. The wallet contained identification belonging to Hendrichs. The area where the items were found was secured and other K-9 teams and a drone began searching the adjoining area.

"Shortly afterward, the call came in that a body had been found by a K-9 team," stated the press release. "At that time, all search teams were notified to return to the incident command post. Family members have been notified."

The body was recovered by members of the Oregon State Police, Umatilla County Sheriff's Office and other searchers.
