Here are the top stories today in Boise:
- For many, life after college typically involves employment not related to a specific area of study. That is true for BSU alum "Corndog" Clara Adams and "Chad"der Cheese. KIVI-TV staff report the two former Broncos are now the drivers of the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile and will be making multiple stops back in Boise later this week driving the famous vehicle. (Idaho News 6 Boise Twin Falls)
- A weekend rumor on social media is false. BoiseDev editor Don Day clarifies the Boise Barnes & Noble is not in the process of closing and is in fact looking for additional employees. The Boise location has received approval for new signage and the chain has plans to open 30 new stores this year. (boisedev.com)
- The criminal portion of Ammon Bundy's trespassing at the Meridian St. Luke's Hospital has come to a conclusion. KTVB-TV staff report the former candidate for governor has made a plea deal, agreeing to enter a plea of guilty to a charge of first-offense trespassing. Bundy was sentenced to 90 days in jail with 78 days suspended and credit given for the remaining 12 days he already spent in jail. Bundy will also serve one year of unsupervised probation in the conviction. Bundy and other defendants still face a lawsuit brought by St. Luke's for a "coordinated campaign of harassment and intimidation" against St. Luke's and its employees in the March 2022 incident. (ktvb)
- Only half of all shelter animals are adopted according to one source. Boise Patch wants our city to not be part of that statistic and feature local animals available in Boise now. Your future best friend may be only a click away. (Boise Patch)
- Kuna and Meridian, along with multiple other Idaho towns, now have access to mobile unemployment locations. The IdahoCapitalSun's Kelcie Mosely-Morris writes unemployed Idahoans can now receive assistance in filing for unemployment insurance and have questions answered. To find the nearest mobile unit, Idahoans can visit labor.idaho.gov/officedirectory. (idahocapitalsun)
