- Apparently, the holiday spirit did not extend to a few Boise youth. KTVB-TV staff report three Boise schools went into lockdown Monday afternoon after a fight at a local park. Fairmont Junior High School, Morley Nelson Elementary and St. Mark's Catholic School were placed on lockdown while police investigated the incident. Police were called to the park on South Aurora Drive to a fight"involving juveniles and possible weapons." Three juveniles were arrested, and the lockdown was lifted at 1:20 p.m. (ktvb)
- The snow keeps coming down and the outlook for a drought continues to improve. Boise State Public Radio's James Dawson speaks with Josh Smith, a forecaster with the National Weather Service in Boise. Much of the mountains are currently at 160 percent to 190 percent of normal precipitation and the most recent climate seasonal forecast anticipates above-average precipitation across much of the state through March 31. - Joining the holiday spirit is the Idaho State Veteran Cemetery. CBS2 news reporter Marcos Guadarrama reports 2,600 wreaths were recently placed on tombstones in Boise as part of 'Wreaths across America.' Volunteers placed the wreaths out over the weekend and the wreaths are made possible by donations as well as truckers who donate their time to distribute the wreaths across the country. (Idaho News)
- Imagine showing up to work to find your office may be moved to an abandoned sewer lagoon. BoiseDev editor Don Day reports the City of Boise is preparing to consolidate its parks and recreation facilities to a new consolidated location near the Boise Airport on a site of decommissioned sewer lagoons. The project calls for new offices, shops, storage, and wash bay buildings. (boisedev.com)
