  1. The executive director of the West Valley Humane Society is dead, and her son is in custody, charged with her murder. KTVB-TV staff report 26-year-old Levi Isaac Davis was arrested for second-degree homicide and a parole violation Monday night after his mother, Karly Cantrell, was found dead in her home in Middleton. In an arraignment on Tuesday, bond for Davis was set at $5 million and the prosecutor announced the charge may be upgraded to first-degree homicide. (KTVB.com)
  2. With the November election looming, more than 50 statewide Republicans have crossed party lines and endorsed Democratic attorney general’s candidate Tom Arkoosh. IdahoEdNews reporter Kevin Richert writes the list includes some big names in statewide GOP circles with some of them speaking at a press conference on Tuesday. Arkoosch is running against Republican nominee Raul Labrador — a former congressman, gubernatorial candidate and state GOP chair. (idahoednews)
  3. You will soon be trading in fortune cookies for your grandmother's brooch. BoiseDev's Autum Robertson writes the old Great Wall Restaurant in Meridian is coming down to make way for Copper Canary, a vintage and estate jewelry store with pieces dating back to the 1800s.   4. The Boise Daily would guess the morning commute has seen a day or two of your vehicle's heater turned to the on position. That being said, even with the mornings cooling down, CBS2 news staff report 31 wildfires are still burning in Idaho and a new fire was just reported Tuesday. To date, wildfires have charred 268,203 acres in Idaho and close to 7 million acres across the United States in 2022. (idahonews)
  5. Boise's Fairmont Junior High School students are working out in a new $100,000 fitness center. KIVI-TV's Kelsie Rose writes the new center is possible after a grant from the National Foundation for Governors' Fitness Councils (NFGFC), a public/private partnership. (kivitv)
