Nampa Man Dies In McCall Head On Crash

A Saturday incident on Highway 55 closed traffic both ways for five hours.

McCALL, ID — Idaho State Police spent much of Saturday on State Highway 55 near milepost 142 in McCall. Troopers were dispatched at approximately 3:16 P.M. with reports of a head on crash.

Thomas E. German, 51, of Nampa, was travelling northbound in a 2007 Toyota Corolla. Donald C. Carnosso, 69, of Boise, was travelling southbound in a 2018 Ford F250, pulling a 2022 Grand Design Recreational Trailer.

German crossed the center line and hit Carnosso head on. Both lanes of traffic were blocked for approximately five hours.

No occupants were transported. German succumbed to his injures at the scene of the crash. German and his passenger were not wearing seatbelts. Carnosso and his passenger were wearing their seatbelts.

Idaho State Police was assisted by Valley County Sheriff's Office, McCall Police Department, McCall Fire Department, and Idaho Transportation Department.
