Here are the top stories today in Boise:

  1. Some of your East Boise neighbors have been told to move and have less than one week to find new housing. KTVB-TV's Andrew Baertlein reports residents living in the Cambridge Apartments were notified by Commercial Northwest Property Management (CNPM) all leases were terminated and residents must be out by Monday. The letter to renters states the issue is ongoing water and heat problems with the complex. CNPM's own lease agreement states 30 days notice must be provided by both renter and company if a lease is terminated. (KTVB.com)
  2. Federal funds have been secured for a new downtown YMCA and add new housing in the area. BoiseDev reporter Autum Robertson writes $4 million in federal money will come from the 2023 Omnibus package that was signed into law last December. The cash will help fund the 2.5 city blocks between State and Jefferson streets and 10th and 12th streets in Boise with a new YMCA facility. An additional 626 housing units with 724 parking spaces spanning four city blocks is also in the plans. The new YMCA will be built on the old Idaho Sporting Goods location. (boisedev.com)
  3. Boise State's Albertson Library has been chosen as one of only 50 public and academic libraries to host a traveling exhibit, “Americans and the Holocaust.” The exhibit opens March 22 and will continue through April 26 per information released by Boise State University. The exhibit tells the story of Americans in the 1930s and 1940s handling the refugees, war and genocide taking place during the era. (Boise State University)
  4. Just last week, Boise Patch carried the news of an upcoming execution delayed due to lack of chemicals necessary. CBS2 reporter Angela Kerndl reports the Senate Judiciary and Rules committee narrowly passed a bill allowing Idaho to complete executions by firing squad when lethal injection is not available. (idahonews)
  5. Spring is the perfect time to start looking at a new home so you can enjoy the summer in your new digs. Boise Patch has information on a three bedroom in Garden City, a buildable lot in the north end and a cute two bedroom also located in the north end. (Boise Patch)
