Here are the top stories in Boise today:
- A suspect has been arrested and one person is dead after a stabbing near the entrance to Avimor subdivision. KTVB-TV staff report a man was found dead inside a vehicle at a gas station and one man is in custody. (KTVB.com)
- Staying with crime news, a Meridian man is also in custody after he was charged with pointing a gun at a female during an argument. CBS2 news staff report 37-year-old Daniel Santoro was arrested on March 28, one day after he refused to exit a home on March 27. Police were called to a report of a man who had pointed a handgun at a woman during an argument in the 2000 block of N. Arrowood Avenue. (Idaho News)
- Voters will not see a petition to dissolve the Meridian Library District on the November ballot. BoiseDev reporter Autum Robertson reports the Ada County Commission voted to not add the request by the Concerned Citizens of Meridian group. The decision comes after two days of testimony attended by hundreds. The commissioners urged both sides to meet and work out a resolution. (boisedev.com)
- Some of your neighbors may soon lose their health insurance. The IdahoCapitalSun's Clark Corbin reports the Idaho House of Representatives voted Wednesday to pass the rewritten 2024 fiscal year Medicaid budget. Coming mostly from federal funding, the vote will result in over 150,000 Idahoans losing coverage. (idahocapitalsun)
- Hopefully sooner, the weather will turn warmer, and our thoughts will turn to ice cream. LITE-FM's Kevin Miller reports the Idaho Potato Commission recently partnered with Van Leeuwen to promote... Malted Milkshake & Fries Ice Cream! When we hit those 100-plus degree days of August in Boise, remember to bypass the vanilla. (liteonline)
