Hello, neighbors! It's me again, John Braese, your host of the Boise Daily.
The weekend is here for many of us, but for the Hay's House in Boise, everyday is a weekend. Due to lack of staff, the shelter is closed. A local news station will no longer use mugshots for most stories, and an Idaho teacher is vying for a national crown. There is a family of kids who never get away from school and a homeless shelter in Boise is again back on track.

- KTVB-TV has announced mug shots will no longer be used in minor crime stories. According to the release from the Boise television station, "mugshots are often taken at what could be considered the lowest moment in a person's life and are not reflective of the person as a whole. Once online, the story and mugshot live on forever, even if the case is dismissed or the person is acquitted." (KTVB)
- As contestants take the stage vying for the crown of Miss USA, Idaho will be represented by a Nampa teacher. Blake Jones and IdEdNews speaks with Katarina Schweitzer regarding her representing Idaho, but also educators around the nation. (IdEdNews)
- When the kids are driving you nuts, it would be nice to tell them to just go play in the gym or run around the auditorium. A family in Eden, Idaho has those options. Jake Putnam, writing for the Idaho Farm Bureau, visits the Jensen family, proud owners of the old Eden High School. The family of 10 are busy converting the 1920's school into a home. (idahofb)
- A new homeless shelter to be located on State Street appears to be back on track. BoiseDev's Margaret Carmel reports Interfaith Sanctuary received approval from Our Path Home and has now resubmitted a conditional use permit to the city. (BoiseDev)
