Boise broke a record Monday morning for the highest recorded hourly temperature since 1939.

BOISE, ID — If you were outside Monday morning at 7 a.m., you felt a record.

The National Weather Service announced the 91 degrees on Monday morning was the highest hourly temperature since 1939, the year hourly records first started being recorded.

According to the NWS, Boise experienced a heat burst due to a shower. This weather caused the temperature to rise, causing the new record.

High temps are expected to remain in the area for the remainder of the week so this may not be the last time we mark 2021 as a record year.
