One Dead After Caldwell Crash

A two-car crash on Tuesday resulted in the death of a Nampa woman.

CALDWELL, ID — On Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at 2:24 a.m., Idaho State Police investigated a fatality crash on US20-26 just west of Wagner Road in Caldwell.

Sandoval, 21, of Parma, was driving west on US20-26 in a 2014 Honda Civic, when he crossed the center line and struck a 2011 Hyundai Accent head-on. The Hyundai was being driven east on US20-26 by Jessica Perez, 26, of Nampa.

Perez succumbed to her injuries at the scene. Jessica Perez' passenger, Alexander Perez, 23 of Nampa, and Rhyker Sandoval were transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital.

Jessica Perez was wearing a seat-belt. Alexander Perez and Sandoval were not.

The roadway was blocked for three and one half hours.

Idaho State Police was assisted by the Canyon County Sheriff's Office, Caldwell Fire Department, Canyon County Paramedics.
