- Gas prices in Boise exploded last week, rising 21 cents per gallon. CBS2 news staff report the average price per gallon rose to $3.71 per gallon. The average price in Idaho only rose 15.6 cents per gallon in the same time frame. (Idaho News)
- A 20-year-old Nampa man has agreed to plead guilty to shooting his roommate to death on Christmas Day 2021. Boise Patch carries the news Dakota Travis Honeycutt will face his sentencing this spring in the death of 48-year-old Kevin Hunt. Honeycutt originally told authorities Hunt committed suicide. - People are looking at a new website sponsored by Idaho government. KMTV news staff report over 2,800 people have filed claims totaling over $1.3 million due to Idaho's new Unclaimed Property Division's website. There is still a ways to go; however, as the state currently has $228 million in unclaimed property. (KMVT)
- A Boise State University fraternity will not be accepting new members for a period of four years. The Arbiter's Brydon Black reports the fraternity Alpha Kappa Lambda (AKL) has been suspended by the local university and also by the fraternity's national headquarters for a minimum of four years. The suspension comes after “a culmination of fraternity infractions related to alcohol and hazing.” (Boise State University The Arbiter Online)
- We can never have enough stories about cookies. BoiseDev managing editor Gretchen Parsons breaks the news a new cookie shop is scheduled to open March 18. The Cookie Co. will be located at 6500 N. Linder Road in Suite 112 in Meridian. The grand opening will offer a chance to win free cookies for one year. (boisedev.com)
