Here are the top stories in Boise today:

  1. The mornings may be chilly, but our fire season is not over. The Goose Fire burned approximately 200 acres near Hill Road into Thursday morning. No evacuations were ordered with over 30 fire trucks used in the fighting of the blaze. KTVB-TV staff were on the scene and provide the report. (KTVB.com)
  2. If you need more sports, a second Boise radio station is adding sports talk radio along with game coverage to the airwaves. Don Day, editor of BoiseDev, introduces Fox Sports Radio 99.9FM. The new station does not currently include any local programming. (boisedev.com)
  3. Boise brides are leading the way in dropping the traditional white wedding gowns. LITE-FM's Jen Austin looks at wearing black for that special day, a move Idaho is leading. (liteonline.com)
  4. If Gov. Brad Little chooses to run again for governor, he can afford a few yard signs. IdEdNews reporter Kevin Richert looks at campaign donations and found Little has raised a few dollars shy of one half million dollars to date. Richert also provides a run down of where the donations originated and other candidates' finances. (idahoednews)
  5. A group of neighbors say a developer has not lived up to promises of assistance after their apartment complex is scheduled for demolition. CBS2 reporter Trevor Fay speaks with those living at the Ridenbaugh Place Apartments. (Idaho News)

  • The 5A District III volleyball tournament starts Friday at Capital High School. (8 a.m.)
  • The Bronco Shindig takes place Friday at the Boise State University Recreation Center. Get ready for hay bales, country music, and some line dancin’ at this country-themed event! Don’t know how to line dance? No worries! There will be a dancing instructor to teach you all the best moves. So come dressed in your best western clothes and a mask to enjoy some country fun! (6 p.m.)
  • The Household Hazardous Waste Collection site for Friday is the Waste Collection Facility located at 103oo Seamans Gulch Road. (8 a.m.)
  • Tickets for the concert by the group Kansas go on sale Friday. (4 p.m.)
  • Pairing wine with cigars can be a little tricky, but when done right it’s so soothing! Guests will enjoy a cigar and a glass of wine while we idle away the afternoon in our backyard at Sips and Sticks. V-Cut Lounge will be on site to help educate us on cigars. Williamson staff would be pleased to help you pick the perfect wine to “sip” with your “stick.” (4 p.m.)
