Receive A Vaccine, Go To The Zoo

Receiving a vaccine on August 28 will qualify for free zoo admission.

BOISE, ID — Boise Parks and Recreation and St. Luke’s are teaming up to offer a mobile COVID-19 vaccination clinic at Zoo Boise on Saturday, August 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The mobile vaccination unit will be located next to Zoo Boise’s front entrance.

Any visitor to the zoo on Saturday who has a vaccination record displaying a first or second COVID-19 shot received on August 28 will receive free admission to Zoo Boise. Please note, free admission only applies to the individual listed on the vaccination record and photo ID will be required for free entry into the zoo.

“We’re pleased to partner with St. Luke’s and offer free admission to Zoo Boise for anyone who chooses to get vaccinated this Saturday,” said Boise Parks and Recreation Director Doug Holloway. “Our Parks and Recreation Department is dedicated to serving Boise residents and visitors from across the county and region. We are grateful for this unique opportunity to promote the health and safety of our community.”

Free admission with proof of vaccination applies all day on Saturday, August 28. Doses of the Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson vaccines will be available on site and administered by St. Luke’s staff at their mobile vaccination unit.

“We appreciate community partners who are supporting this effort and helping us vaccinate their employees, customers, clients, neighbors, friends and family members by just reaching out and working with us,” explained Scott Milner, St. Luke’s, senior director of pharmacy.

Zoo Boise is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with last admission at 4 p.m.

Zoo Boise has turned the act of visiting the zoo into a conservation action. Since 2007, visits to Zoo Boise have generated more than $3 million towards the conservation of animals in the wild, redefining why we have a zoo. Zoo Boise is accredited by the Association of Zoos & Aquariums, a national organization that supports excellence in animal care, conservation, education, and science.
