The Sunday edition of the Boise Daily is ready for your read. A meeting regarding the Idaho Potato Drop ended with people walking out and threats of moving the event. One Boise artist's work can be seen in your local refrigerator and the Rollerdrome is back up and welcoming skaters. A horrendous Idaho cold case has come to a conclusion and a local farm is welcoming visitors to Idaho's largest pumpkin patch.

- It does not appear Boise will host the Idaho Potato Drop on New Year's Eve again this year. The founder and CEO of the event walked out of a meeting with city officials and announced the celebration will be moving to Nampa according to Ryan Suppe writing for KTVB-TV. (KTVB)
- A Boise artist is having her work seen on thousands of beer cans across the United States. The Boise Weekly's Tracy Bringhurst speaks with Ashley Dreyfus, winner of the Pabst Blue Ribbon beer's Arty Can Contest. Dreyfus was chosen from 4,200 entries for beer cans in your store now. (boiseweekly)
- The Treasure Valley had numerous roller skating rinks years ago. Today, only the Nampa Rollerdrome remains, hosting skaters since 1947. Closed for a few weeks for upgrades, BoiseDev reporter Anna Daly speaks with the owner of memories of the place and the future since the reopening on Friday. (BoiseDev)
- An Idaho cold case has come to a conclusion after a Burley man was sentenced to life in prison on Friday. In a story on CBS2-TV, submitted by the Associated Press, Gilberto Flores Rodriguez was convicted and sentenced in the death of 14-year-old Regina “Gina” Krieger. (idahonews)
- At one time, Eagle was dotted with small farms and dairies. One of the few remaining farms, Twin Oaks, remains open and during the fall season, is open to families hosting the largest pumpkin patch in Idaho. - Golden Eagle Audubon Society and Intermountain Bird Observatory will be hosting restoration planting events at the Diane Moore Nature Center from Sunday, October 17 through Thursday October 21, 2021. Due to ongoing COVID challenges we will be maintaining safe protocols - so please read the following before you sign up! The 2021 planting "event" is spread out over 5 days. We are scheduling small groups of volunteers (10 or fewer persons on site) during two three-hour sessions each day. (9:30 a.m.)
- The Boise Depot is a beautiful historic Spanish-style structure operated by the Boise Parks and Recreation Department as a public ceremonial or meeting space and historic site. Designed by New York architects, the building opened in 1925 to elaborate fanfare in the capital city.
Guided tours are available at 12:00 and 1:30 p.m. Come take a FREE public tour of this historic building and the grounds. (11:00 a.m.)
Boise Fact of the Day
Kacie Fischer is the first woman to inline skate across the United States, a feat she accomplished in 2012. She is the fastest person to ever do so, skating from California to Florida in 47 days; the previous official record was 69 days, by Rusty Montcrief in 2002.
