  1. A Caldwell man has been arrested for multiple theft charges involving ... lizards. Boise Police state Christopher Lou Garcia is being investigated regarding the taking of lizards from multiple Boise stores. KTVB-TV staff have the reptilian report. (KTVB.com)

A task force set up to study Interfaith Sanctuary’s proposal for a new shelter location on State Street will now only provide recommendations after being told by the city they were not "empowered" to make decisions for Interfaith Sanctuary or the City of Boise. BoiseDev senior reporter Margaret Carmel looks at the history of the task force, the Veteran’s Park Neighborhood Association and what is next for a homeless shelter in Boise. (boisedev.com)
  3. KBOI-TV staff met the new staff of the Record Exchange. After 40 years of ownership, the downtown store will see old faces taking new positions. Long time current employees are set to be the new owners. (Idaho News)

  • Fairmont Junior High School will host a cross country meet at Ann Morrison Park on Thursday. (3:30 p.m.)
  • Capital High School will meet up with Centennial High School for a freshman football game on Thursday. (4:30 p.m.)
  • It's Pride Month in September at the Gem Center for the Arts featuring comedian Ron Vigh. (7 p.m.)
  • The Boise Public Library Board of Trustees regular meeting will be held on Thursday, Sept. 9, 2021 at 11:30 a.m., in the Marion Bingham room at the Main Library located at 715 S. Capitol Blvd. (11:30 a.m.)
  • The City of Boise Ethics Commission, the first of its kind in Idaho, is made up of five members from the community. These volunteers are a mix of two appointees from Council, two appointees from the Mayor and one city employee who is nominated by the city's Wages and Benefits team. Together, they investigate potential violations of the city's Code of Ethics by city employees and elected officials, working in consultation with the offices of the City Attorney and Human Resources. The commission meets Thursday. (3:30 p.m.)
