Here are the top stories in Boise today:
- Videos are flying showing buildings swept away by raging rivers and highways cut away in minutes. The Idaho Press carries a story by KTVB-TV's Andrew Baertlein interviewing Boise resident Hollie Arnell and her experience at Yellowstone Park during the flooding. Arnell speaks of campers fleeing, leaving their camp gear behind in an attempt to outrun the oncoming flood waters. (Idaho Press)
- The rising price of fuel is hitting families and small businesses but consider if you were paying for a large fleet of vehicles vital to public safety. CBS2 news staff report the Ada County Sheriff's Office is estimating an additional $250,000 will be needed to finish its fiscal year for the department's fuel budget. The estimate is based on current fuel prices. Additional rising costs will only add to the need for more money. (Idaho News)
- A former Bronco and NFL head coach is returning back to Boise to join the Boise State University football team with his son. Bronco Nation News reporter B.J. Rains reports Dirk Koetter will join his old team, this time in the role of analyst. Koetter's son, Davis is a wide receiver for the Broncos. Koetter will be joined by Ron Collins, another former Bronco coach returning to Boise after retiring after eight seasons on the Ohio coaching staff. (bronconationnews.com)
- The weekend is just around the corner and Boise Patch has the newest listings of open houses around Boise. Save those gas dollars and plan your trip of places to see with Boise Patch. (Boise Patch)
- Our recent weather fails to push the excitement level high, but floating season is coming and soon we will don tubes at Barber Park for the trip. KTVB-TV news staff report the Boise Fire Department is out on the river now looking for and removing hazards. Nothing ruins a tubing trop like a tree limb popping your tube. (KTVB.com)
