- Summer will be here before you know it and the Boise Parks and Recreation is ready. Boise Patch announces the registration for summer classes, camps and other activities sponsored by Boise Parks and Recreation opens Monday, April 17. The sign up includes summer swim lessons offered by the city. (Boise Patch)
- If you are a Greenbelt user, CBS2 reporter Luke Randle warns low-lying sections of the popular path are seeing flooding from the Boise River. With the snowpack supplying Boise's water supply sitting at 142% of the yearly average, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Bureau of Reclamation is adding about 500 CFS per day. (Idaho News)
- A local high school is mourning the loss of a tennis player after collapsing on the court during practice. KTVB-TV passes on a story that Justin Smith, a senior on Timberline High School’s varsity tennis team, collapsed during practice on Monday and later died at St. Luke’s Regional Medical Center in Boise. A GoFundMe account created in memory of Smith has already raised more than $24,000 as of Saturday afternoon. (KTVB.com)
- A plan to build 3,000 homes near Kuna, opposed by Boise and denied by Kuna, has been approved by Ada County. BoiseDev carries a story by Idaho Press reporter Carolyn Komatsoulis the Spring Rock Planned Community received unanimous voting by the Ada County Commissioners. The community is scheduled for 762 acres located south of Boise and east of Kuna, near the Falcon Crest Golf Course. (boisedev)
