- Boise State University's College of Health Sciences announced David Becerra will step in as the new divisional dean of the School of Social Work. Currently, Becerra is an associate professor, director of the Office of Latino Projects, and Southwest Borderlands Scholar for the School of Social Work at Arizona State University. His term is set to begin by Saturday, Jul. 1, and he's focused on expanding access, educational opportunities, and academic support for all students. (Boise State News)
- Commercial Northwest Property Management is currently being sued by tenants in their apartment complex located in Boise's East End. The lawsuit comes after an alleged mass eviction notice was sent out due to there being an impossible fix within the building's heating system. Tenants claim they were originally told they could stay in the building, but then received a "non-negotiable" notice to vacate with only a three-day window to return their keys. (AOL.com)
- Due to an active warrant being issued, a 23-year-old Texas fugitive was taken into custody by Boise's Police Department following murder charges. Boise's Police were able to confirm that Frank Harvey of Seadrift, Texas is currently under investigation for the death of his 61-year-old mother who was found on Apr. 26 with fatal gunshot wounds in her Texas home. Prior to his arrest, law enforcement in Texas did alert Boise's Police Department of a possible fugitive in the area. (KTVB)

- The Boise Neighborhood Interactive Steering Committee is currently accepting presenter proposals for their fourth community conference scheduled for Saturday, Jul. 15. The conference is an in-person-only event that will last from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and be held at Jack's Urban Meeting Place (JUMP). All proposals must be submitted by Wednesday, May 10, and should align with the topics of this year's theme. (City of Boise)
- According to the National Weather Service, increased widespread precipitation is on Boise's forecast for the next several days. Residents are reminded to travel with caution as these storms may exacerbate the already existing flooding problems due to the recent snowmelt and warmer temperatures.
