Happy Monday, people of Boise! Here's what's going on around town today.

Welcome to the Monday edition of the Boise Daily. We start the weekend with news Idaho inmates are using a popular social media app to find dates. Boise Patch offers new homes on the market waiting for new owners and spring translates to construction and delays on Highway 55. Plan for a weekend opening for our local drive-in movie theater and find the cheapest gas in Boise to make the drive for that opening.

Here are the top stories today in Boise:

  1. The use of social media to find that someone special has extended to those behind bars. CBS-2 news staff have the story of incarcerated individuals in Idaho prisons using TikTok to find potential suitors. One female inmate currently close to 1 million views on her video. (idahonews)
  2. Start your week off right with a look at five new properties in Boise for sale and ready for new owners like you. (Boise Patch)
  3. If you use Highway 55 on your trip from Boise to McCall and points beyond, you have been warned. Starting Monday, the Idaho Transportation Department is resuming construction between Smiths Ferry and the Rainbow Bridge as reported by BoiseDev's Gretchen Parsons. The stretch of highway will be reduced to one-way alternating traffic and drivers should anticipate 15-minute delays. (boisedev)
  4. With the weather warming, our thoughts turn to...drive-in movies. Memories of making out in the bed of a pickup have turned to children and juice boxes, but still in the bed of a pickup. LITE-FM's Michelle Heart has the long anticipated news the Terrace Drive-In has announced the gates open this upcoming Friday. (liteonline)
  5. KTVB-TV is offering a service very important at this time-an interactive map showing gas prices in Boise. The unfortunate part is the map fails to show any prices under four dollars. (KTVB)
