Here are the top stories today in Boise:
- Boise Patch attempts to provide followers with an array of news including crime stories. Today is different as two notable crime stories occurred. CBS2 news staff report an officer-involved shooting took place Wednesday near East Boise Avenue and South Apple Street. The story includes an update on the incident provided by Boise Police Chief Ron Winegar stating the suspect was traveling from Oregon to Boise when he exited his vehicle with what appeared to be a weapon. (idahonews)
- Our second crime story is reported by KTVB-TV staff. One person is dead and another injured after a shooting inside an Eagle business off Eagle Road and Eagle River Street. The Ada County Sheriff's Office reports one suspect is in custody. (ktvb)
- Like their predecessors of 20, 40, even 60 years ago, the Boise City Council is attempting rules towards Boise's downtown 'cruise.' BoiseDev editor Don Day reports after complaints from downtown business owners, the council changed two sections of the city code. Drivers can now be ticketed for any “unreasonable sound that can be heard 50 feet away” and the possibility of six months in jail for a loud vehicle is now possible. (boisedev)
- For the past 20 years, Life's Kitchen has been in Boise helping youth struggling with typical schooling and considered at-risk of dropping out. IdahoEdNewsreporter Darren Svan speaks with one trainee who has led a nomadic life and is now in the program, a program successful with over 755 young adults to date. (idahoednews)
- It may not be a concert you are planning to see or a new Boise restaurant with rave reviews, but the upcoming Boise trial of Lori Vallow Daybell is taking reservations for spectators. LITE-FM's Mateo provides information on how you can grab a possible seat. (liteonline)
