Here are the top stories today in Boise:

  1. We start today's Boise Daily with some bad news for lovers of tapas and great wine. BoiseDev managing editor Gretchen Parsons writes Txikiteo, Boise's downtown Basque restaurant, will close after New Year's Eve. Owners are leaving open the option to possibly relocate to an alternate location after losing their lease in the Watercooler Building. (boisedev.com)
  2. It is that time of year to check road conditions if you are traveling. KTVB-TV staff report Interstate 84 closed for several hours Thursday morning due to multiple crashes. If your holiday plans include a visit to the Portland area, dial 511 before you leave for the latest trip conditions. Frequently, Oregon is closing the freeway at Ontario even when the crashes occur miles westward. (KTVB)
  3. As the holidays approach, we all like to support our neighbors and friends. FromBoise's Marissa publishes a long, extensive list of places to shop local. The Boise Daily is here to provide both local news and support local businesses. (fromboise)
  4. A Boise mother is starting a foundation to help kids find permanent homes. CBS2's Ashley Carter speaks with Holly Mills, mom of Emma Suzanne Mills. Named for Emma, the foundation is working to facilitate adoptions in the area. To find out more and learn how you can make an impact, the website can be found here. (idahonews)
  5. A Boise State University student has been charged with grand theft after a fraternity on campus discovered money missing from their bank account. Boise State University's The Arbiter's Taya Thornton reports Garrett Brinker turned himself in to the Ada County Sheriff's Office two years after the charge was filed. Brinker was the former treasurer of the Pi Kappa Alpha (PIKE) fraternity. (Boise State University The Arbiter Online)
