Happy Tuesday, Boise! Here's what's going on around town today.
Welcome to the Tuesday edition of the Boise Daily. Look for our local courthouse to be busy in January as a scheduled murder trial will now go forward as defendant Lori Vallow Daybell has been found competent to assist in her defense. A teen found dead in a Boise park has left many questions, and pets are looking for new owners like you now. Check out a video of an attempted break-in, and a high school is being asked to write a $1 million check.

Here are the top stories today in Boise:
- Lori Vallow Daybell is again competent and will leave the custody of the Idaho Department of Health Welfare to prepare for her murder trial. East Idaho News reporter Nate Eaton, a follower of this case since the start, reports District Judge Steven Boyce issued the order Monday morning stating Vallow Daybell is fit to proceed with a trial in Ada County starting January 2023. - Here is a story leaving more questions than answers at the present time. KTVB-TV staff report a body found in a park near Vista Avenue has been identified as 19-year-old Darrius Smith of Boise. Police have not released the cause of death, listed only as "pending." Also unclear is if the death is related to a park shooting in Twin Falls late Wednesday evening.(KTVB.com)

- A Boise resident is asking for help after a videotape of an attempted break-in near Cloverdale and Ustick was released this week. MIX106-FM's Mateo has the footage of the man in black trying to get through the back door of the home. (mix106radio)
- The West Ada School District is being asked to pay $1 million to a student who fell and hit his head on a fire hydrant. IdahoEdNews reporter Kevin Richert writes the Mountain View High School student was told to run a lap around the school before falling and sustaining injuries. (Idaho EdNews)

- The Residential Housing Association of Boise State University will host a 2000s themed Drag Show Tuesday in the Jordan Ballroom. (5:30 p.m.)
- The Boise City Council will meet Tuesday evening. (6 p.m.)
- The Household Hazardous Waste collection site for Tuesday is the Cole and Ustick Library located at 7557 W. Ustick Road. (Noon)
