- Searchers with heavy equipment will return to a Fruitland backyard Sunday morning armed with a search warrant.
- In January, the Idaho Legislature will see a number of new faces roaming the halls.
- The State of Idaho has agreed to remove three men from the sex offender registry for crimes related to consensual sexual acts.

Here are the top stories today in Boise:
- A search was conducted outside a home in Fruitland relating to the disappearance on Saturday. KTVB-TV's Alexandra Duggan reports crime tape blocked off a road in a neighborhood across the field from Michael Vaughn's home. The 5-year-old Fruitland boy went missing in July of 2021. The backyard of a home located on Redwing Street was being excavated with the search starting at approximately 6 p.m. (ktvb)
- Country star Margo Price. 208 Natives. Tom the Mail Man. Lady Wray. The Boise Weekly's Jeanne Huff writes the Treefort Music Fest announced the first wave of artists and bands for Boise's March music festival. The list includes more than 185 acts hailing from 25 states and 15 countries all heading to Boise. (boiseweekly)
- The State of Idaho has agreed to settle a case involving three men required to register as sex offenders for engaging in consensual oral and anal sex. KIVI-TV's Kelsie Rose reports a federal judge had previously ruled the Idaho registration was unconstitutional. The state appealed the ruling and in oral arguments, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals then strongly suggested the state settle the case. (kivi)
- For anytime a team is made up of rookies, times are usually a little tough in the beginning stages. The Idaho Capital Sun's Clark Corbin reports when the Idaho Legislature convenes in Boise Jan. 9, one in three legislators will be rookies. The Senate will seat 11 first-time members while 28 newcomers will take their seat in the House. (idahocapitalsun)
- Get on your dancing shoes as a new alcohol-free dance venue will open next year. CBS2 news staff report The Farm will open their doors at 5137 N Glenwood Ave in Garden City. (idahonews)
