🌱 Veterans Chamber + Holy Cow Expansion + More Micron Chips

The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Boise.

Tuesday could be confusing for many of us. July 19 is National Football Day, but football in the term of European football. So, in Boise, July 19 would be National Soccer Day. Either way, head down to Simplot Fields and kick a goal.

Hello, everybody! It's me, John Braese, your host of the Daily. Keep reading for everything you need to know about what's going on in town these days.

Welcome one and all to the Tuesday edition of the Boise Daily. A recent chamber of commerce is locally helping a specialized group of people. Monday saw some out-of-state residents returning back to Idaho to face charges, and Eagle will soon see some large burgers. New pets are looking for new families and Micron could soon be much larger.

Here are the top stories in Boise today:

  1. The idea of a local chamber of commerce goes back years. Many know of monthly or weekly chamber luncheons, a place where local businesses gathered to promote a local town. Idaho Capital Sun's Christina Lords introduces a new type of chamber, the Idaho Veterans Chamber of Commerce. Started in August 2020, this chamber is there for veterans offering workforce connections, family and wellness help, education, housing assistance and entrepreneurship resources. (idahocapitalsun)
  2. Six members of the Patriot Front, none with ties to Idaho, were scheduled to appear in court Monday after their arrest at a northern Idaho Pride event last month. CBS2 carries a story written by the Associated Press the six have been charged with misdemeanor charges of conspiracy to riot. The six appearing in court were arrested after police found riot gear, one smoke grenade, shin guards and shields inside the van after pulling it over near a park where the North Idaho Pride Alliance was holding a Pride event in Coeur d'Alene. 3. You may not wish to pass this story on to your family physician. LITE-FM's Michelle Heart announces Holy Cow, the popular Nampa burger joint, is opening a second location in Eagle in the old Buster's location. The opening will allow Eagle residents to grab a Whiz Khalifa, El Chupacabra, Waylon's Dream, or Holy Cow and Chill. Don't tell your heart surgeon if you order the Holy Cow-double third pound grass-fed beef patties, double bacon, American cheese, Holy Cow sauce and served between two grilled cheese sandwiches. (liteonline)
  4. If you take action today, you could spend next weekend with a brand-new member of the family. Boise Patch offers a list of Boise area cats, dogs, and more all looking for a new family. (Boise Patch)
  5. Micron, that little business started in Boise, could soon become much larger. BoiseDev reporter Margaret Carmel reports the computer giant could soon expand and add thousands of local jobs, but only if Congress passes a package of incentives for the semiconductor industry this week. Facing a nationwide semiconductor shortage, Micron is planning to possibly build a fabrication plant in Boise. (boisedev)
