Here are the top stories in Boise today:

  1. As we have strived to keep you informed on an upcoming Boise court case, here is the weekly update on the Chad Daybell/Lori Vallow Daybell cases courtesy of eastidahonews reporter Nate Easton. The married couple and co-defendants are asking their cases be separated with Chad Daybell's lawyer saying "Chad Daybell’s defense will be 'diametrically' different from his wife’s." The two are charged with multiple counts of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder for the deaths of 7-year-old Joshua “JJ” Vallow and 16-year-old Tylee Ryan – two of Lori’s kids – along with Chad’s previous wife, Tammy Daybell. In a hearing asking the two cases be severed, John Prior, Chad's attorney, said his defense may include information from a recent Netflix documentary and argued gender stereotyping could hurt his client. (eastidahonews)
  2. A father-son duo is on the sidelines for the Boise State University football team and KTVB-TV staff speak with Dirk and and Davis Koetter on the dynamics of coaching and the goals for the team. (KTVB.com)
  3. Just a six-hour drive from Boise, you can join the Duttons. KIDO-AM's Marco writes the Yellowstone Dutton Ranch is actually the Chief Joseph Ranch in real life and located in Darby, Montana. For $1,500 per night, you can spend the night in Rip's cabin, but reservations are full for 2022. (kidotalkradio)
  4. Warm Springs Avenue is now officially a residential street. BoiseDev senior reporter Margaret Carmel writes the ACHD voted to change the status of a section of Warm Springs Avenue to residential, allowing a roundabout at the intersection of Park Center Boulevard and Warm Springs and two other changes the City of Boise was hoping for on the Master Street Map. A timeline for construction has not been set. (boisedev)
  5. Skiers and snowboarders rejoice, the season is open. CBS2 news staff report the Lookout Pass Ski and Recreation Area near Mullan, Idaho is open with four more Ski Idaho destinations not far behind. Grand Targhee Resort opens Nov. 18 as does Pomerelle Mountain Resort. Our own Bogus Basin is set to go Nov. 19 and Schweitzer is slated to open Nov. 25. (idahonews)
