- The Wyakin Foundation in Boise recognizes that transitioning out of the military can be challenging for service members. They provide support to ease this transition process. You can learn more about the organization here. (Idaho News 2)
- Construction has commenced on an overpass crossing Highway 21 near Boise to facilitate the migration of deer and elk while preventing collisions between motorists and wildlife. The project, called the Cervidae Peak Wildlife Crossing, aims to protect both people and wildlife. The overpass will feature natural landscaping and fencing to guide the herds through a designated migration route, similar to a successful underpass constructed in 2010. The construction is expected to be completed in the fall. (Idaho News 6)
- Boise resident Diana Lachiondo, stresses the urgency of updating the city's zoning code to safeguard the livability and unique character of neighborhoods. She emphasizes the significance of responsible fiscal management and prudent use of taxpayer funds, especially in the face of inflation and budget constraints. Lachiondo advocates for a modernized zoning code that fosters considerate development approaches, promotes inclusive communities, and mitigates the financial strains associated with unchecked urban sprawl.
