  1. Earlier this week, the new Idaho Falls Fire Station 7 held a grand opening ceremony. The new station will have a staff of 15 people and will serve the area of Idaho Falls that is south of Sunnyside and east of South Yellowstone Highway. The new station is expected to reduce response times and alleviate pressure on the city's busiest fire station. This is the city's first new fire station since 1994, something that Idaho Falls Fire Department Chief Duane Nelson called, "a pretty big moment for us." (East Idaho News)
  2. The Idaho Falls Community Food Basket has completed renovations on its new building on West 14th Street. The move was made possible due to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints donating the building to the Community Food Basket. The recent renovations will allow patrons of the Food Basket to wait inside, as opposed to waiting outside, as was required at the previous location. Other updates include a kitchen facility and a floor plan that allows patrons to have a shopping-like experience with volunteers. (Local News 8)
  3. The Idaho Falls Magazine has unveiled its winners for the 2023 Dining Awards. Abracadabra’s Breakfast & Bistro was named the Best Overall restaurant for its wide variety of menu options and inviting atmosphere. Dixie's Diner was chosen as the city's Best Diner, and Java Express is the top spot for a cup of coffee. For adventurous diners, Tandoori Oven was named the Best International restaurant.
