Vehicle crash causes transformer box fire at Idaho Falls business (eastidahonews.com) — An electrical fire in Idaho Falls Saturday morning started when a driver hit a transformer box near a car wash on Pancheri Drive, but no one was hurt. Idaho Falls Power quickly cut electricity and firefighters extinguished the flames within minutes, preventing damage to nearby buildings and restoring safety along South Yellowstone and the surrounding area.
   

3. 50-year-old Idaho man dies from Flu as officials urge immediate vaccination (localnews8.com) — Health officials in Idaho Falls are urgently urging residents to get flu shots after a 50-year-old southeast Idaho man died from influenza-related illness, the state’s second flu death this season. Southeastern Idaho Public Health is stressing vaccination for everyone over six months old and sharing practical steps like staying home when sick, frequent handwashing, and protecting high-risk neighbors.
   

4. Lawmakers hit on hot topics at Legislative Preview (localnews8.com) — Idaho Falls residents just heard local lawmakers tackle budget worries, school changes, Medicaid costs, and doctor shortages at a Legislative Preview hosted by the Bonneville County GOP. Reps. Wendy Horman and Marco Erickson and Sen. Dave Lent, all from Idaho Falls, outlined their plans on state spending, education modernization, mental health funding, and expanding medical school slots for Idaho students.
   

5. Two east Idaho methamphetamine dealers sentenced to 5 years in federal prison (localnews8.com) — Federal prosecutors say two meth dealers tied to eastern Idaho cases have each been sentenced to five years in prison, in an announcement datelined from Idaho Falls. Investigators with the multi-agency BADGES Task Force traced one case to mailed drugs and another to multiple in-person sales, with both defendants also facing years of supervised release after prison.
