Here are the top three stories in Idaho Falls today:
- Timothy Brian Wardas has been located and booked into the Bonneville County Jail after an incident where he allegedly broke into a residence, leading to a confrontation with Idaho Falls police. Wardas was found in possession of items belonging to the homeowner, and after being taken to the hospital for medical evaluation, he left against medical advice, prompting the police to search for him. - A woman was killed and two people, including the driver of a pickup truck with his horse, were injured in a rollover crash involving a pickup pulling a trailer and a Toyota Prius near Idaho Falls on Monday. The pickup driver failed to stop at the intersection, resulting in a broadside collision with the Prius, causing the pickup to flip. The woman in the Prius was pronounced dead at the scene, and the injured individuals were taken to the hospital for treatment. (East Idaho News)
- A 70-year-old Idaho Falls man hiking in the Teton Range in Wyoming injured his knee and was unable to continue, prompting a rescue operation by Teton County Search and Rescue. With challenging conditions such as hot temperatures, steep trails, and little shade, 20 volunteers hiked the trail with supplies and a wheeled litter to transport the man down the mountain — taking a total of four hours to complete, where he declined an ambulance ride and sought further medical care with his companion in their vehicle.
