Here are the top three stories in Idaho Falls today:

  1. An Idaho Falls man was indicted for possession with intent to distribute 70,000 pills containing fentanyl. The indictment alleges that on three separate occasions in June of 2023, Jason Hurley knowingly and intentionally possessed four-hundred grams or more of a substance containing a detectable amount of fentanyl, with investigators seizing more than 70,000 pills from Hurley and storage units he controlled. Hurley pled not guilty, and his jury trial is set for Oct. 10, 2023. (LocalNews8.com)
  2. A 58-year-old Idaho Falls man was arrested on Tuesday after allegedly shooting a man outside a local gas station. Early in the morning, officers were called to the Common Cents convenience store after reports of a shooting. A man was shot in front of the store, and officers found multiple bullet casings at the scene. John Darnell McCune was charged with felony aggravated battery using a deadly weapon, felony aggravated assault, and felony unlawful discharge of a weapon. (East Idaho News)
  3. Alan Reed, President of Reed’s Dairy, has been inducted into the Idaho Milk Processing Association’s Hall of Fame. Reed was raised in Idaho Falls and has been part of the Idaho dairy community since he started working on the farming side of the dairy business. Today, Reed’s Dairy operates six retail locations throughout the state of Idaho, along with home delivery businesses in Eastern Idaho and in the greater Boise metro area. (Idaho Business Review)
