• Idaho Falls announces 2026 State of the City Address with Mayor-elect Burtenshaw (localnews8.com) — Idaho Falls residents are invited to hear Mayor-elect Lisa Burtenshaw’s first State of the City address on Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2026, at the Holiday Inn & Suites on South Fork Boulevard. Hosted with a luncheon by the Greater Idaho Falls Association of REALTORS, the event supports the Mayor’s Scholarship Fund, which has already provided hundreds of thousands in scholarships to local students.
   

• Tenants fear money loss after drop box break-in; Sheriff's Office investigating (localnews8.com) — Idaho Falls renters with Rooftop Rentals are worried they may have to repay December rent after a rent drop box was reportedly broken into and cash payments went missing. The Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office is investigating, while tenants say late fees will be waived but not the lost cash, leaving many anxious about coming up with another month’s payment.
