  1. James Levi Hathaway has been identified and charged with two misdemeanor assault charges following a weapons call in Idaho Falls. The incident began with a dog fight call, and Hathaway was reported to have displayed a gun during a confrontation with animal control officers, leading to a short standoff with police. Hathaway was released on bond and ordered not to have contact with children, pending a future hearing. (East Idaho News)
  2. The Shelley Annual Spud Day, known as the "longest running small town celebration in the U.S.," is introducing a new street festival event on Friday, Sep. 15, featuring live music, local vendors, and a pleasant atmosphere in anticipation of Spud Day festivities. The street festival will be located on West Pine Street in Shelley and is open to new vendors who can participate without charge this year. Spud Day itself will take place at the Dawn Lloyd Field in nearby Shelley beginning on Sep. 16, with various events scheduled between Sep. 7 and 16. (East Idaho News)
  3. The Bonneville County library has received 20 new Chromebooks through the Idaho Commission for Libraries Connecting Communities Program, enhancing the resources available to library users. The addition of these Chromebooks aims to bridge the digital divide, offering classes to help people learn how to use technology, apply for jobs, use spreadsheets, and navigate the internet safely. The library plans to continue expanding its services to better serve the community. (LocalNews8.com)

  • "Disney Encanto: The Sing Along Film Concert" is coming to the Hero Arena at the Mountain America Center on Oct. 10, featuring the entire movie along with a live band performing the hit songs from the soundtrack. Tickets are available starting at $39.50 plus fees and can be purchased at the link. (Mountain America Center)
  • The haunted house "Junkyard of Terror" is set to open on Sep. 15 at 198 North Yellowstone Highway in nearby Rigby. The haunt, located in a former salvage yard, will feature a spooky junkyard theme with elements like a junkyard dog, an automobile crusher, and characters from the automotive industry. The venue will be open through Nov. 4 and aims to be an annual attraction that improves yearly. (East Idaho News)
  • The Greater Idaho Falls Chamber held three ribbon-cutting ceremonies on Thursday, starting at Thirst Burst, where attendees enjoyed pretzel bites and beignets along with a variety of drinks. The second ribbon-cutting celebrated the Rubber Ducky car wash, known for its creatively named car wash options, and the day concluded with a ribbon-cutting at Revive Aesthetics, a comprehensive beauty and health facility, highlighting the growth and community support for the Chamber.
