Here are the top three stories in Idaho Falls today:
- Nighttime construction began this week on Yellowstone Highway, from Sunnyside Road North to Lomax Street. The Idaho Transportation Department will be milling and paving the street from 8:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. each night, and the road work will last approximately 30 days. Drivers are advised to reduce speeds and watch for construction crews in the work zone area. (East Idaho News)
- This week, the Idaho Falls Community Hospital announced the opening of a new pediatric gastroenterology clinic. As the first full-time pediatric gastroenterology clinic based in Idaho Falls, it will provide specialty care for children with digestive health issues. Until now, in most cases, families have had to travel out of the area if their child needed treatment. (East Idaho News)
- A local man was arrested this week following a felony warrant for his arrest from a road rage incident in July. Sheriff's deputies went to the man's home and arrested him after he briefly barricaded himself insideβthe deputies were serving a warrant including two counts of felony aggravated assault and one count of reckless driving. Following the arrest, he was transported to Bonneville County jail where he was booked on the outstanding felony and misdemeanor warrant, including a new charge for misdemeanor resisting arrest.
