Governors State University’s Center for Performing Arts, 1 University Parkway, is proud to host John Waters for a screening of Serial Mom, complete with director’s commentary, Friday Oct. 31 at 8 p.m.

The Center welcomes the king of camp, John Waters, for an unforgettable Halloween night of cult cinema and twisted storytelling. Expect an endless bag of transgressive tales and hetero-non-aggressive wit that’ll warm the dark little hearts of non-binary brats everywhere.
Waters will present a live director’s commentary and screening of his classic Serial Mom—sharing behind-the-scenes stories, real-life inspirations, and unfiltered observations along the way. Over-sharing? Absolutely. Too much information? Probably. But airing his dirty laundry just makes him feel clean. Includes a post-screening Q&A.
Please Note: Serial Mom is rated R for satirical presentation of strong violence, vulgar language and sexual episodes. This event is recommended for patrons ages 18+. Patrons under the age of 17 must be accompanied by a guardian (aged 21+).
Tickets are $20 - $84 and may be purchased by calling 708.235.2222 or visiting CenterTickets.net. Patrons may also make purchases at the box office. Box office hours are Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.; Thursdays: 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. and two hours prior to all performances.
